Jane Powell, 90 Years Old
Soprano singer, actress and singer Jane Powell started attending dance lessons when she was two, singing lessons when she was 10 and then there was her amazing octave range, so it was plain as day that she was just waiting for a career in entertainment. When she was 13, Jane was on a family vacation in Hollywood and attended two auditions for producers there. They promptly signed the young teen to a 7-year contract with MGM studio. In the next 14 years, Jane starred in 19 movies, with the biggest ones being Delightfully Dangerous Holiday in Mexico, A Date with Judy, and of course, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. She also did TV shows like The Love Boat, Loving, and Growing Pains, and later, in her 70’s; 4 non-musical stage plays. But age finally caught up with her and she retired from showbiz in 2003.
