Vanity – KIDNEY FAILURE
It’s amazing that Canadian singer-songwriter Vanity’s musical and performative career only lasted for less than 15 years, but she was able to make a huge name for herself in that short span of time. As the lead singer of the female musical group, Vanity 6, Vanity crooned the hit ‘Nasty Girl’ and also had a successful solo career.
Vanity, given how beautiful she was, later acted in movies such as Action Jackson, 52 Pick-Up and The Last Dragon, but in 1992, became a born-again Christian and quit show business. She went back to using her real name – Denise Matthews – and became an evangelist. Denise used to have a cocaine addiction problem that led to kidney issues, which eventually caused her death in 2016 due to total kidney failure. She was 57 at the time.
