Kent McCord is a retired American actor famed for his portrayal of Officer Jim Reed on the iconic TV series Adam-12. Born as Kent Franklin McWhirter in Los Angeles, he debuted on-screen in The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet and later adopted his stage name. McCord’s breakthrough came in 1968 with Adam-12, where he starred alongside Martin Milner.
He was elected to the national board of directors of the Screen Actors Guild in 1972 and had an extensive TV career, including roles in Dragnet, Baa Baa Black Sheep, and Unsub. Recent appearances include SeaQuest DSV, JAG, Farscape, and Renegade, showcasing his enduring talent.
