Yesteryear Celebrities Who are Still Alive and Kickin’
Fabian Forte, 76 Years Old
Actor and singer Fabian Forte became a teen idol after appearing on the TV dance and singing program American Bandstand in the 50s and 60s. He was discovered by the owner of Chancellor Records, who were looking for good-looking teenage singers. He recorded his first single as a teen, while also studying at school and working part time at a pharmacy to support his family. While he delivered hits like “I’m a Man” and “Turn Me Loose”, his incredibly good looks also pulled him towards Hollywood and his first movie was Hound-Dog Man in 1959. And while his movie career did not become successful, he was much in demand for cameo role sin TV shows like The Virginian, The Eleventh Hour and The Greatest Show on Earth. After legal issues and bankruptcy hit him in the 1970s, he decided to retire in 1977, but was back to the stage in 1981 and he still performs today, even though he is not as popular as he once was.
