Karen Grassle, 78 Years Old
After spending her summers at the Stanford Contemporary Workshop and some time performing on stage at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, actress Karen Grassle picked up some major acting skills. She moved to New York City, and worked at stock theaters, in PBS originals and a few soap operas before she auditioned for a major series pilot. She beat the others to play the character of Caroline Ingalls, the mother, in the TV show Little House on the Prairie from 1974 until the series ended in 1983. She then moved to New Mexico and subsequently to Kentucky where she still acts on stage, although she is open to guesting in acting projects on the big and small screen.
