Eileen Derbyshire, 89 Years Old
We cannot imagine anybody else playing Emily Bishop’s character on the soap opera Coronation Street, other than MBE recipient actress Eileen Derbyshire. She has the distinction of being the longest acting cast member in a soap, as she played Emily for 55 years!
Eileen lives in Cheshire and is known to be a notorious recluse, which her son, sports journalist Oliver Holt denies. He says that his mother is more a private person and she believes in being an actress for the love of acting, and not for any publicity or fame.
