Yesteryear Celebrities Who are Still Alive and Kickin’

Lloyd Price, 85 Years Old

Dubbed ‘Mr. Personality’, because of his hit song Personality, Llyod actually started his musical career being a choir boy, singing the Lord’s praise at his local church. His first recorded single Lawdy Miss Clawdy was a smashing hit and earned him fans and many other career-making opportunities. But, in 1954, he chose to join the military and was drafted to Korea. Upon his return, he found that the R&B scene, as he knew it, had changed and now he had a lot of competition. For the longest time he struggled to release his music but eventually he helped in perfecting the New Orleans Beat and soon produced some major hits. Since the 1990’s he’s been performing with other Blues legends and then subsequently retired to live a quiet life with his wife in New York.
