Celebrity Homes: An Inside & Outside Look

Matty Healy: ~ £1.25 Million, London

When you think of Matty Healy, who has made a name for himself with a grungy indie look, a preference for “affordable things,” and a reputation for enjoying cigarettes, it might seem unexpected to find that his million-pound home has a sleek design with a minimalist and neutral decor.

The £1.25 million three-bedroom house, designed by Takero Shimazaki Architects, features arched doorways, glass flooring, a balcony, a hidden facade, a free-standing bath, and brass fittings. The home’s lavish yet neutral aesthetic would be the envy of Kim Kardashian. True to Matty Healy’s style, his choice of a concrete cave-like home carries a deeper significance. The design is inspired by the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, which the architects describe as “the beauty of imperfection.” Takero explains that the design aims to create a “refuge within the city with a distinctly calm atmosphere.”
