Karl Lagerfeld: ~ $11.65 million, Hamburg, Germany
We would expect the home of famed designer Karl Lagerfeld to be nothing short of a masterpiece, and in this department, he does not disappoint. Naming it ‘Villa Jaco’, after his late partner Jacques de Bascher, the creative director of Chanel bought the place in 1989 and lived here for most of the 90’s. Originally, the property was tailor made for a shipping tycoon who wanted his house to look like a roman villa. Lagerfeld later added his own touches to the house, filled with murals, quirky furniture, classic chandeliers and a gold leaf ceiling in the living room. Outside lie the lush green gardens with mature trees and a view of the Elbe river nearby. The property was listed in June 2018 with an asking price of $11.65 million.
