Freddie Mercury: ~ $26 million, Kensington, UK
Many say that the famous British band Queen would never have enjoyed the kind of success that the did, had Freddie Mercury, their lead singer, not joined them. His unique voice and on-stage eccentricities made him a darling on stage at all their sold-out live concerts. Sadly, Freddie passed away in 1991 due to complications arising from AIDS, a disease he only acknowledged as having during his last few days. His home, in which he died, was his $26 million Kensington mansion called Garden Lodge. As per the instructions in his last will and testament, the house was inherited by his common-law wife, Mary Austin, who still lives here, to this day, and fiercely values her privacy, refusing to let people photograph the interiors of the house, just as Freddie left it.
