40 Houses of Legendary Celebrities Like You Have Never Seen Them Before

Downton Abbey‘s Highclere Castle: ~ $400 Million, England

Fans of the very British show Downton Abbey have to have seen the regal Crawley family flitter about in their immaculate dresses in the imposing house. The house used for shooting the series is actually not a set, but a real life castle which was built in 1842. Highclere Castle as it is called, sits on a 5,000-acre estate, and is owned by the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon, who actually reside here. Of course, we fans cannot just waltz into somebody’s house, but in mid-December, for a mere $624, you can have dinner in this castle during the Christmas Ball and also get a private tour of the entire castle, with a tall glass of Champagne in hand. Wouldn’t that be delightful!
