40 Houses of Legendary Celebrities Like You Have Never Seen Them Before

A Christmas Story House: Undisclosed, Cleveland

A Christmas Story is a staple movie to watch during the Christmas season. The movie stars Melinda Dillon, Darren McGavin, and Peter Billingsley who played the young Ralphie Parker. Although many scenes of the movies’ home interior shots were filmed in another location, all exterior shots were of a real-life home that’s located in Cleveland, Ohio’s Tremont neighborhood. The home is of a 19th century Victorian design which has been made into a museum by businessman Brian Jones. Jones, an entrepreneur from San Diego, is actually a big fan of the movie, so he decided to buy the house when it was put up for sale on eBay in 2004 for $150,000. Because the previous owners changed most of the decor of the house, Jones studied the movie, frame by frame, so he could restore it to its former glory. The businessman spent a whopping $240,000 for renovations to turn it into an exact replica of the movie house, and ended up shelling out more than the total cost of the house. Jones also bought the property lying opposite the house and turned it into a museum dedicated solely to A Christmas Story.
