OLD STARS YOU THOUGHT ARE LONG GONE
BUT THEY ARE NOT EVEN PLANNING THEIR RETIREMENT
Gladys Knight, 75 years old
Gladys, or the “Empress of Soul”, is a singer-songwriter and actress who has a whopping 7 Grammy Awards and ruled the 60s, 70s and 80s with her band Gladys Knight & the Pips, that included her brother and cousins.
You would recognize her melodious voice when listening to the hits That’s What Friends Are For, Midnight Train to Georgia, and the theme song for the James Bond movie, Licence to Kill. With the Rolling Stone listing her in their 100 Greatest Singers of All Time, it was only a matter of time that Knight was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a year later, in 1997, into the Rock and Roll of Fame.
