If the name Nadia Comăneci seems vaguely familiar, that’s because she wowed the world with her mad gymnastic skills in the 70s and 80s, even earning multiple Olympic medals for it. She made even bigger headlines when she later defected from her native Romania to the United States.
She now holds dual citizenship for both countries. She currently keeps herself busy working with several charities focused on Romanian kids. Nadia won 5 gold medals at the Olympics, all in individual categories, and was the first-ever gymnast with a perfect 10.0 score. A feat she achieved when she was fourteen.
