These Child Stars Are All Grown Up Now
It’s a tale as old as time—child stars often do not fare well as adults. Perhaps this is because they grow up in the limelight, adored and admired by the public, that they cannot seem to deal with the real life that awaits them in adulthood.
This is probably why many of them grow up with substance abuse problems or depression, while others have absolutely no concept of managing their earnings so they end up in bankruptcy. And then there are the select few whose careers and success survive the test of time. So what has happened to your favorite child stars since? Let’s find out.
Melissa Sue Anderson – Happily married
Many will know Melissa Sue Anderson as Mary Ingalls from NBC’s Little House on the Prairie, which aired from 1974 to 1981. She also acted in several film and TV projects from the 70s to the early 2000s, albeit in smaller roles. In 1990, she married producer Michael Sloan and have never consulted with a divorce attorney since. Melissa Sue’s most famous role, Mary Ingalls, went blind in the TV series. It had been told in the story that her blindness was caused by the scarlet fever illness. Recent investigations, however, is pointing to viral meningoencephalitis, after careful observation of the Mary’s symptoms. Why Laura Ingalls, the author of the books of Little House on the Prairie, changed her sister’s disease on the books will remain a mystery.
