Lauren Chapin – Ordained Evangelist
Lauren Chapin’s acting career may have been short-lived, but at least she starred in a role that’s memorable to all television fans of the 1950s. Father Knows Best is a sitcom that started as a radio program, then debuted on television in 1954. The series was about the life of a middle-class family, The Andersons. Chapin played the young Anderson kid, Kathy ‘Kitten’ Anderson.
Not many know that the child actress lived a troubled childhood, the exact opposite of the happy life she had in the show. Her mother became an alcoholic, so she ran away from home and got caught for using and selling drugs. She was able to turn her life around, though, and became an ordained evangelist and an entertainment manager.
