OLD STARS YOU THOUGHT ARE LONG GONE
BUT THEY ARE NOT EVEN PLANNING THEIR RETIREMENT

Ed Ames, Born in 1927

Although actor Ed Ames is best known for his role as the Native American Mingo, on the popular TV series Daniel Boone, the music afficianados would also recognise him for his songs; My Cup Runneth Over, When the Snow is on the Roses and Who Will Answer? He started out by being in a band called the Ames Brothers, with his brothers and performed with them until they disbanded. He went on to act on stage and eventually ended up on TV with several small roles before he got cast as Mingo. With his last stage play being 1984’s The Man of La Mancha, it’s safe to assume that Ed is now living a life away from the stage and limelight.
