Diahann is truly an inspiration for many African-American women in the entertainment industry, as she was the first non-white woman to be cast in role in a TV series (Julia) which was far from stereotypical. Numerous stress and stage awards and nominations later, Diahann turned to activism being a breat cancer survivor herself. She says she is happily retired from showbiz having acted in her last movie in 2014. But never say never, right?
