When your career in entertainment spans 70 years, you’re a certified legend, and doesn’t Carol Burnett know it! The comedian, actress, writer, and singer was one of the first women to have her own popular show on television, The Carol Burnett Show. But many years before she moved to Hollywood, she lived in this humble San Antonio house with her grandmother.
She even writes about it in her memoir, about how she bathed in the kitchen sink and used to skate on the house’s wooden floor. The house was eventually sold off and was going to be demolished to make way for a parking lot but eventually, the iconic home was cut into 3 parts and moved 8 blocks away to where it stands now. It was donated in 2007 to American Sunrise, a charitable organization.
