Selena Quintanilla, who went by just her first name, was a famous musician who brought the Texas-based folk sound of Tejano into the mainstream and made it very popular, until her untimely death in 1995. She has become a pop culture icon, with many people (like Kim Kardashian and Demi Lovato) who like to emulate her style, especially on Halloween. But, no one comes close to getting her tone and mannerism down to the T, as songstress Jennifer Lopez did in the movie Selena in 1997, which was based on the late singer’s life. For the movie, the hair and make up artists and well as costume designers worked tirelessly to give Lopez the same look as the young Selena, while Lopez watched a lot of videos and interviews to act like her. On a more odd note, “Jenny from the block” even admitted to sleeping in Selena’s bed once!
