OLD STARS YOU THOUGHT WERE LONG GONE BUT THEY ARE NOT EVEN PLANNING THEIR RETIREMENT
Richard Chamberlain, 84 Years Old
Actor Richard Chamberlain’s rise to fame was through the NBC TV show Dr. Kildare, where he played the lead role of Dr. James Kildare, a young intern at the Blair General Hospital. Chamberlain’s success opened opportunities in theater, as well as films. Some of his most notable films are The Thorn Birds, King Solomon’s Mines, and The Bourne Identity (years before Matt Damon played the movies lead Jason Bourne). Chamberlain never hid the fact that he was gay, even starting a relationship with his Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold co-star, Martin Rabbett in 1977. But his being gay was revealed in 1989 in an article on the Nous Deux, a French magazine. The actor, in turn, admitted the fact that he’s gay through his autobiograpy, Shattered Love, in 2003.
