Celebrities Who You Didn’t Know Served In The Military

Morgan Freeman

Morgan Freeman is known for his very deep and soothing voice that is often used in narration in documentaries and films.  One would think he probably went to some special classes or even did a specific college course to train him in voice acting. But his passion early on in life was not acting but to fly airplanes and that’s why he  joined the U.S. Air Force in 1955.  He ditched a Jackson State University drama scholarship he was offered, and chose the USAF instead.  When he realized he was really in love with ‘the idea of flying’ rather than the actual act of flying and serving in the air force, Freeman, who was already ‘Airman 1st Class’, left after four years of service.
