Charles Bronson
Charles Bronson is probably the toughest of all tough guys in Hollywood. He has appeared in numerous action movies that, frankly, it would have been disappointing if we discovered that he had no military background at all. But as expected, Bronson, based on existing records, served in WWII as an aerial gunner! It was in 1943 that he enlisted, and unlike other American actors who were mostly stationed in Korea, Bronson fought against the Japanese while based in Guam. Although he was an immigrant, Bronson bravely fought for the U.S., participating in 25 missions, even receiving the Purple Heart award.
