Yoko Ono: ~ $8.3 Million, New York
It’s a little surprising that Beatles musician, John Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono, still lives in the same building (The Dakota), outside which Lennon was murdered in 1980. She also owns other properties, such as this 3 bedroom and 5 bathroom West Village penthouse, which has been sold for $8.3 million. She had tried disposing off the place a few times before, but alleged that the co-op board kept interfering and the sale never went through. Yoko bought the home for her son Sean, who only lived there for a couple of years before leaving for good. The new owners now have a private elevator and garage, soaring exposed beam ceilings, a rooftop deck, greenhouse and a recreation room.
