Doug Sheldon, Born in 1936
Doug Sheldon, whose real name is Bernard Bobrow, is a British pop singer, novelist and actor who has since retired. He grew up as a carnival barker and trained in acting and after military service, bagged his first role in the 1961 movie, The Guns of Navarone.
Even though his first single failed to rank in the charts, he next single, which was a cover of ‘Runaround Sue’ was a hit. While making music, he acted in Doctor Who and The Avengers, while also publishing a few novels under his name.
