Anne Kirkbride – BREAST CANCER
For playing the role of Deirdre Barlow in the long-running British soap opera Coronation Street, actress Anne Kirkbride has forever made a place in the hearts of her audiences. After all, she played that role on television for 42 years and left the show in 2014, just a year before her demise. Anne had been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 1993 and was cured, and everyone though she would be able to overcome her breast cancer diagnosis too. Sadly, the disease would take her life when she was 60.
