Actor Leonard Nimoy made the iconic role of Mr Spock his own in the Star Trek franchise, though that did limit the work he got outside the series. Apart from acting, he was also a photographer and even had an honorary doctorate from Boston University. Being a long time smoker, he passed away of a smoking related disease at the age of 83.
