Helen Keller Visits Charlie Chaplin on Set
Two of the most famous people of the 20th century, Charlie Chaplin and Helen Keller, met in 1919 on the sets of Chaplin’s movie, Sunnyside. Because the famous author is both deaf and blind, she is seen touching Charlie’s face and lips because that is how she communicated with people, by reading their lips through her touch. Helen Keller’s legacy includes giving financial aid to the needy, which is a great help to those who did not have money or health insurance.
