Amelia Earhart – Declared dead January 5, 1939
To this day, the fate of Amelia Earhart remains one of the world’s biggest mysteries. She is a real feminist icon, being the first female pilots to ever venture a solo flight across the Atlantic and succeed. Later, she would attempt to circumnavigate the globe in 1937, even posing for photographers before boarding her aircraft. She disappeared soon after somewhere above the Pacific. Almost 2 years later in 1939, she was declared officially dead after attempts at finding her and her aircraft were unsuccessful. Since then, countless theories and myths have been formed around her disappearance.
