Franklin D. Roosevelt – Died April 12, 1945
Franklin D. Roosevelt is undoubtedly the most beloved President of the United States. So beloved, in fact, that he is the only person who can claim to have served 3 consecutive terms as POTUS. He died just a few months into this third term. Serving as POTUS during WWII, FDR suffered more than his fair share of stress. Coupled with his smoking habit, his health declined rapidly, which he managed to keep secret from the public until it became apparent in 1945. He posed for one final photograph just a day before he died of a cerebral hemorrhage on April 12, 1945.
