When it comes to dental care during the time of ancient Rome, experts are divided. Some say the Romans didn’t need any dental care at all back then, because sugar hadn’t been introduced yet, which meant there was no need for dentistry. While others insist that dentistry was already practiced by then, evident from the many ancient dentures unearthed by archaeologists. The oldest dentures found showed the combination of human and animal teeth held in place wit gold wire.
