And just like classic Western-themed films, Rio Bravo is all about how a sheriff maintains law and order in his town, which in the movie is Rio Bravo. In order to hold off the local town crook from breaking out his brother from the jail, the sheriff employed the help of a young gunfighter, a cripple, and a drunk. In a movie dominated by men, a woman’s character stands out, which is that of the mysterious Feathers, played by actress Angie Dickinson. Dickinson played the role to a T and it got her a Golden Globe Award in the category of New Star of the Year.
