The Inspiring Life of Patrick Swayze

The Outsiders

One of the most important films during the early stages of Patrick Swayze’s acting career is probably 1983’s The Outsiders. His role earned him the attention of critics, and he got a chance to star in a movie alongside up-and-coming 80s actors C. Thomas Howell, Rob Lowe, Ralph Macchio, and the most popular of them all, Tom Cruise. The coming-of-age movie gave way to the “brat pack” movie theme. It surely made film experts see the potential in Patrick.  The film was directed by the genius behind The Godfather, Francis Ford Coppola and was based on a novel by S. E. Hinton, published in 1967 with the same title.
