You Probably Forgot These Things That Happened in the 90s

The 90s are iconic in so many ways.  The world was on the brink of being conquered by modern technology and yet, there were still so many old school elements that continued being popular from previous decades. Some from this 90s generation may have gone off to school now, to get a college degree, while others went straight to working for a living, but the fun of being a ’90’s kid’ will remain fresh in their minds. Who could ever forget the decade that brought the TV shows Friends and Seinfeld, the first generation Nokia phones, the Spice Girls, or the release of the first ever Harry Potter book? Let’s look back at the many other cool things that took place in the 90s.

Every Woman Wanted the ‘Rachel’ Haircut

The TV show Friends was hugely popular in the 90s, and so were it’s cast members.  Well, who are we kidding?  The show and its cast are still very popular today, but it defined the 90s when it first came out.  Many women wanted to emulate the female stars of the show, especially the character of Rachel, played by Jennifer Aniston.  Aniston had great hair, which we are sure she maintained with expensive hair products, and to take it to the next level, her hairstylist Chris McMillan cut it using a razor at varying lengths.  Aniston hated the hairstyle because she prefers wearing her hair long, but it was a huge hit!  Many women, including celebrities, copied the tapered layer hairstyle that was labeled ‘The Rachel.’

George Clooney Blamed the Paparazzi for Princess Di’s Death

Just recently, actor George Clooney publicly defended Meghan Markle against the media who he said was pursuing and harassing her every day, just like how they did with Princess Diana, Prince Harry’s mother, many years ago.  This would probably remind you of how the actor once held a press conference back in 1997, a day after the late Princess’ death.  Clearly angry, Clooney criticized the tabloids for buying photos of celebrities from photographers or paparazzi.  He pointed out that it’s the gossip magazines that turn celebrity photographers into bounty hunters.  Princess Diana died in a car accident that was said to have been caused by the paparazzi cashing her.

The Era of Justin Timberlake & Britney Spears

There’s a movie that defined the 90s for you, or may it was a particular style or song or many other defining things that remind you of that decade. When we mention the word ‘couple,’ no other name comes to mind except Justin and Britney. He was a member of the famous boy band N Sync and she was a pop superstar, but despite their romantic relationship starting in the late 90s, they first met when they were kids, way back in 1993, when they were Disney’s Mouseketeers. The famous pair broke up eventually because it was reported that Britney cheated on Justin with dance choreographer Wade Robson.
