Charo – Married to Kjell Rasten (~ 40 years)
Guitar swinging Spanish-American singer and actor Charo met ‘the love of her life’, Kjell Rasten and married him in 1978. This was the same year she divorced her first husband, Xavier Cugat, who himself was a famous Spanish-American musician and was also 40 years her senior. Kjell had always been supportive of his wife’s work and passion and even appeared on the reality TV show Celebrity Wife Swap with her. Sadly, after 40 years of wedded bliss and having raised a son together, Kjell chose to take his life by turning a gun to himself. Charo, his grieving wife, released a statement that he had been suffering from a skin disease that drove him into depression, which ultimately led to his suicide.
