Angela Lansbury’s career may be called legendary and extravagant, but the English-Irish born actress chose ‘simplicity’ when looking for a home she can relax in, especially during retirement. The actress’ farmhouse-style home is in the Southeast coast in County Cork, Ireland, away from the madding crowd. The home was designed by Lansbury’s close friend, Stephen Pearce. She said her inspiration was Pearce’s home and traditional farm cottages, which is evident with the house’s design from the flooring to its roofing. Of course with the strong wind near the coast of Ireland, Lansbury made sure to protect her roofs from it by installing steel straps to hold them down.
