Wonder Woman in the Flesh: The Untold Story of Lynda Carter

There is no doubt that actress Lynda Carter is one of the cultural icons of America.  She first donned the costumer of DC Comic’s Wonder Woman, a patriotic outfit that resembles the United States flag. Many years before Gal Gadot became a symbol of ‘girl power,’ there was first Ms. Lynda Carter. Although the show has brought success and an overflowing bank account for the star, her life was no less of an unbelievable story itself.  Unknown to many, there was the struggle with alcoholism, divorce, and bullying.  The untold life story of Lynda Carter is one that can inspire many, because through it all, she came out as a true ‘Wonder Woman’.

Who is Lynda Carter?

Lynda Carter is most famous for playing the role of television’s Wonder Woman, who is a DC Comics superhero, an obvious representation of an All-American superhero what with her costume with colors of the United States flag.  But not many know that the Carter herself is not 100% American.  Her father, Colby Carter, although can be considered American, is of Scottish-Irish ancestry, while her mother, Juanita Córdova, hails from Mexico. Carter fondly remembers a fun childhood full of adventures and family gatherings with lots of food.
