John Amos, 79 years old
Although John Amos’ role of James Evans, Sr. in the ground breaking TV series Good Times is probably one he is most known for, it is also the most controversial, because of his abrupt departure from it. Amos has also appeared in Roots, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and The West Wing. He also conquered the stage, but it wasn’t as fruitful as his television career. Amos’ last on-screen appearance was in 2016’s The Ranch.
