Sam Shepard was a Pulitzer-winning playwright, actor, author, screenwriter, and director. He passed away on July 27, 2017, due to complications of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis at the age of 73 years old. He is the author of 44 plays, several books of short stories, essays, and memoirs. Sam was also involved with actress Jessica Lange for many years and they had two children, a boy and a girl.
