Did you know that there’s such a thing as an insult comic? Apparently actor and stand-up comic Don Rickles is great at it. In fact, he is considered as the best insult comedian there ever was. Acting wise, he appeared in famous movies like Run Silent, Run Deep and Kelly’s Heroes. Although stand-up comedy was the career path he chose to follow first, the actor studied at the American Academy for Dramatic Arts. Kids these days may not know his face, but they sure will recognize his voice everywhere, because Rickles provided the voice of Mr. Potato Head in the Toy Story franchise! Before doing comedy and acting, Rickles joined the U.S. Navy straight after high school graduation. The comic served for as a seaman for five years at the torpedo boat tender USS Cyrene.
