Celebrities Who You Didn’t Know Served In The Military

Bill Cosby

Funny man Bill Cosby may be in the midst of a major controversy these days, but once upon a time he did something good by serving in the military.  Before becoming an actor and making people laugh by starring as Cliff Huxtable in The Cosby Show, the comedian enlisted in the Navy in 1956 during the Korean War.  Appointed as a hospital corpsman, Cosby was placed in the physical therapy department to assist soldiers who were severely injured while fighting in the Korean War.  The famous comedian served in different bases during his four years in the Navy, such as Newfoundland, Virginia, and Maryland.  His reputation may have been destroyed today, but Cosby was once a hardworking soldier.
