Craftsmen Working on the Statue of Liberty in Paris
The Statue of Liberty is a symbol of freedom and many tourists visit it in New York harbor, just to stare at its grandeur. However, the idea of the statue was from French political activist Edouard de Laboulaye and designed by French sculptor Auguste Bartholdi. It was made in Paris by craftsmen, and shipped piece by piece to the country to finally be assembled. The French government probably spent a lot of it’s tax payer’s money to build the statue as a gift to the US government.
