Official of the Boston Marathon Trying to Stop Kathrine Switzer
One of the most famous marathons in the world is the Boston Marathon, and since running has become a trend the past few years (with a lot of prize money involved, might we add), a lot of men and women join the race each year. However in the 1960s, women were forbidden to participate. A fact that did not stop Kathrine Switzer as she registered as K.W. Switzer and joined the marathon, to the outrage of its officials. An official, Jock Semple, tried to stop her, but since she brought her boyfriend (extreme right) as insurance, he helped in stopping Mr. Semple.
