You may have heard about Tesla Motors today, a money-making manufacturer of electric cars, but do you know why it is named so?  This is a photo in 1899 of Nikola Tesla, a Serbian-American electrical engineer, testing his magnifying transmitter.  Tesla Motors is named after him as homage to his inventions of the alternating-current (AC) power transmission and induction motor.
