The close-knit family’s 89-year-old patriarch passed away in November 2017, landing a huge blow to the Howards. Ron announced his father’s passing on social media saying how he and his brother Clint were blessed to have been born as Rance Howard’s sons. He went on to elaborate on the amazing qualities that made Rance not only a good actor and father, but also a great man. His parting line was that the depression-era farm lad’s passion for the cinema had completed changed his family’s course of history. What a beautiful tribute!
