Rock Hudson had a legendary career, so it was only befitting that he’s remembered and celebrated even after his death. He was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a Golden Palm Star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars, and his Giant co-star and friend Elizabeth Taylor bought a bronze plaque for Hudson on the West Hollywood Memorial Walk. But perhaps his greatest legacy was the revelation of his illness helped gather funds for people suffering from AIDS, plus Congress set aside $221 million to develop a cure for AIDS shortly after Hudson’s death.
