Warner Brothers executives may have gotten frustrated with newcomer Rock Hudson, but Universal Pictures saw potential in his good looks, so they took a gamble by investing in the actor. The stipulation in his contract included an acting lesson which he needed to take, along with learning dancing, singing, horse riding, and fencing. The studio finally gave him a starring role in the movie Scarlet Angel opposite Yvonne De Carlo. It was through this film that American audiences were introduced to that handsome and charming face.
