He may have had the looks of a Hollywood actor, but Rock Hudson did not have any formal training in acting. Furthermore, his problem with remembering his lines remained a struggle. But with the right mix of will power and determination, Hudson finally got his acting break by signing a contract with Warner Brothers. His first film was Fighter Squadron starring Edmond O’Brien. It took Hudson a total of 38 takes to get one of his lines right! This movie would eventually become one of many to star the actor, but his problems with delivering lines would soon open doors for him, particularly of those belonging to another movie studio.
