You Probably Forgot These Things That Happened in the 90s
Side B Song Ice-Ice Baby Became a Huge Hit
Back in the early 90s, music records were still a thing. When newbie rap artist Vanilla Ice entered the music scene, his debut single was the song Play That Funky Music, with another track called Ice Ice Baby as a bonus on the B-Side. The record was initially sent to different radio stations, but it did not get the attention that the producers had hoped for. One day, a disc jockey from Georgia named Darrell Jaye decided to play the B-Side song instead and this ‘newly discovered’ song quickly found itself a huge fan following and other radio stations played Ice Ice Baby, too. In no time, the song was a big hit and became a trademark of the 90s and Vanilla Ice’s wealth manager was very happy with the way things turned out.
