Mysterious Facts and Discoveries of Ancient Rome
Woman Gladiator
For many years, historians have been trying to find evidence to prove that women gladiators existed during the ancient Roman period. Archaeologists are claiming that they have just dug up a grave of a female gladiator buried in Roman London. The unearthed remains show that the woman was in her 20s when she died, and obviously buried with high honors as per the items they found in her grave. One of those items was a dish that has a decoration of a fallen gladiator, and other vessels with depictions of gladiators, as well. There were also lamps that has the images of the Egyptian god Anubis, who was in turn associated with the Roman god Mercury. Obviously a wealthy burial, experts believe that there’s a 70 percent chance she was a female gladiator, or if they are wrong, she is a hundred percent related to gladiators.
